April has been a fantastic month for events in Dover. People of Dover and the surrounding areas have shown themselves to be caring, kind and considerate.
A local lady and businesswoman Gillian Pollard is one of the best fundraisers in Kent for the Harmony Therapy Trust. The Harmony Therapy Trust is a charity which provides therapeutic treatments for people suffering from a debilitating illness at no charge to help improve their mental health. The Trust depends completely on fundraising as they receive no government funding.

Gillian and her friends arranged a fundraising Afternoon Tea at Westenhanger castle along with mini-events such as tea and gin tasting, manicures, sweets, a magician, a caricature artist, and bingo. They raised a massive £1450 for the Harmony Therapy Trust.
Tracy, another local lady, organized an amazing event in March raising a massive £51,534.74 in aid of Breast Cancer Care. The event was held on Dover Seafront and was great fun for all who attended either as walkers or spectators. She and her team of friends have even committed themselves to planning an event for 2019. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the event and hope to participate in the next event. This time, however, Dover’s Full–Moon 10K Walk will be raising funds for Breast Cancer Care & Prostrate Cancer UK on Saturday 18th May 2019. Registration is now open. https://www.dfmw.co.uk/registration

The collective market will be back on the 5th May at the Western Docks, Dover. There will be some special offers, so do keep an eye on the website for more information coming soon.
